Election Integrity Bills 'dead' for the 2026 Session

Common-sense election integrity bills introduced:

Preserve a File of Everyone Who Voted

SF 2075 and HF 2166: The voter registration database to label Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) voters, which includes mail-in ballots by overseas citizens and mail-in ballots by overseas military voters.

Label UOCAVA Voters

SF 2074 and HF 2195: The voter registration database to include labeling for the Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) voters, including mail-in ballots by overseas citizens and overseas military voters to help prevent ballot fraud.

Vetting Election Day Registrants

SF 2081 and HF 2164: Election Day Registrants need to cast Provisional Ballots and be vetted by the same methods used by earlier registrants.

Increase Mail-in Ballot Security

SF 2077 and HF 2165: Require better security for mail-in (absentee) ballots.

General Election Security

HF 507: Add unique identifiers to ballots to prevent counterfeit ballots from being counted. Make election day a holiday to increase turnout and encourage community involvement. Limit the use of mail-in ballots to prevent mail-in fraud. Limit campaign contribution amounts and from only Iowa residents to help ensure that elected officials are not unduly influenced by outside entities.

SF 2166: Require a disclosure statement when using artificial intelligence in election-related campaigns.
